Having a beach house anywhere would be an absolute dream. Having a beach house in Florida is the ultimate dream. Enjoy the warm sunshine, ocean breeze, and stunning sunsets from your deck. If you’re more adventurous, you can spend days swimming, fishing, or exploring the local wildlife.

St. Augustine Beach is a Winner

St. Augustine is more of a secluded and quiet option, especially good if you’re retiring. If you’re hoping to live out your dreams in a peaceful beach town, this is your spot. You’ll love so much about this town. With its quaint cobblestone streets, historic landmarks, and beautiful beaches, there is no shortage of things to do and explore. There is also a vibrant and diverse culture, from the city’s art galleries and museums to its many festivals and concerts

Many visitors notice the unique architecture, from the Castillo de San Marcos to the Flagler College campus. If you are interested in architecture and history, while you are visiting you must stop and see the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, the Colonial Quarter, and the Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park.

The St. Augustine Lighthouse is a popular landmark located in St. Augustine, Florida. It was built in 1871 and was the first lighthouse to be built in the state. The lighthouse stands 165 feet tall and is located on Anastasia Island. The light from the lighthouse can be seen up to 24 nautical miles away, making it a crucial navigational aid for ships entering and leaving the busy port of St. Augustine.

The lighthouse is open to visitors who can climb up the 219 steps to the top for a breathtaking view of the city and the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to its amazing views, the lighthouse is also home to the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum which houses a variety of artifacts and exhibits related to the city’s maritime history.

The Gulf is a No Go

Some of the most fantastic beaches are along the southern tip and western shores of Florida. However, this area is prone to hurricanes and it’s no secret. Not that we would discourage you from purchasing a beach home wherever your heart desires, the Gulf is just a less desirable place. This is obviously more preference than a rule. Having a beach house anywhere in Florida is sure to be an amazing experience.

Along the panhandle is another place that may be a little more of a risk. This area tends to flood a lot. With floods usually comes damage and beach houses lose basically all their appeal once they have become flooded. However, this is all preference. If you feel like you can get away with having a house in the Keys, then you should go for it! Florida is home to beautiful waters and you have every right to enjoy them.
